My sister and I designed a baby shower party for one of our nieces. We made the decision to have it in the fellowship area of the local church due to the fact that it was a large guest list. We had the shower on a Saturday afternoon. We did not want to get too detailed with the baby shower decorations because of the fact that we had to have the complete area cleaned out instantly after the party. We did want to have a few decorations for baby shower to give the room a festive air. There's a bassinet that's passed to every new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first 4 to 6 weeks. This bassinet was my mother's. We determined that we would use the bassinet as the center of our baby shower decorations.

The fellowship area has large round tables that seat ten folks. We moved 1 table off by itself to be the gift table. We covered this table with a smooth pink table cloth; our niece knows she is having a girl. We set the bassinet in the middle of the table. We decided to use our presents for the baby shower party decorations. I had obtained a pink and white infant blanket, which we draped over the side of the cradle. We pinned several rattles and other baby toys to the blanket using diaper pins. We then displayed the little outfits that my sister had purchased. We finished the baby shower party decorations for the presents table by placing a big stuffed bear into the bassinet. It's so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!

For the buffet table we had an arrangement of fresh-cut flowers from the neighborhood florist. She used silky pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the arrangement. We determined that no other baby shower decorations needed to be placed on this table. We did have pink napkins that we set on this table, along with a cake that was ornamented with a stork holding a tiny doll in a pink frosting blanket.

We had also gotten a corsage for our niece and one for every of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very nice and we wouldn't have to spend a great deal of time cleaning up baby shower party decorations because of the fact that they would all be sent home as presents to our niece.

We had a great turn out for the baby shower party. My niece received several very nice gifts. She was glad that we had the shower in a space that was not cramped. As she progresses with the pregnancy she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 minutes after the baby shower was over the fellowship area was cleaned up and we were on our way home.
